Welcome to the High School for Law & Justice Early College!
We’re excited to have your family join the Eagle community. This page will guide you through everything you need to know as a new parent.


πŸ•— School Hours

  • Start Time: 8:00 a.m.

  • End Time: 3:40 p.m.

  • Students must be seated by 8:00 a.m. or will be marked tardy.

  • Arrivals after 8:30 a.m. are considered absent unless arriving on a late HISD bus.

ARRIVAL PROCEDURES
All students will enter through the front entrance (facing Scott St.). Doors open for students at 7:30 am.
Free Breakfast 7:30 am – 7:55 am
Class begins at 8:00 am
Students should be dropped off using the drive-through on Coyle Street.


πŸŽ’ Backpacks & Lockers

  • Any backpack is allowed (mesh, clear, or regular), as long as it’s school-appropriate.

  • Lockers are not provided—students carry their items throughout the day.

🚌 Transportation Information – HSLJ 2025–2026

  • Students should arrive at their bus stop 10 minutes early.  
    • Students are excused for delayed buses, but not for missing their bus.

  • πŸ‘• Dress Code – HSLJ 2025–2026
    HSLJ enforces a strict dress code — this is not a free dress campus. All students are expected to dress professionally and appropriately to reflect the school’s values and career-focused environment.  

    βœ… What Students May Wear:  
    HSLJ Polos (Navy, Gray, or Black – official and approved)  
    HSLJ T-Shirts (Approved designs only)  

    Fridays Only:  
    HSLJ Club Shirts  
    College or Military Branch Shirts (name/logo must be clearly printed)  

    Shirts must fully cover the midriff – no crop tops or cut-offs allowed.  

    🚫 What’s Not Allowed:  
    Hoodies of any kind  
    Crocs, slides, flip-flops, or sandals  
    Leggings, yoga pants, or any tight-fitting bottoms

Personal Communication Device Policy HB 1481

•No personal communication devices (cell phones, headphones, iPads, personal computers) are allowed during the school day (7:50 a.m. - 3:40 p.m.)
•Devices are to be turned off and stored in the student's backpack for the entire day.
•Accommodations will be provided based on documented need.

Complete College Enrollment for Your Student

Dear Parents and Guardians,
Welcome to our HSLJ Early College community! As part of this exciting opportunity, all incoming 9th and 10th-grade students will be enrolled in college courses through Houston Community College (HCC) during the school year.
To complete your student’s college registration, we need your help with two important steps. These steps must be completed to ensure your child is officially enrolled and eligible to earn free college credit through HCC.
